The Village of Lisle’s long history of “green” practices makes it the perfect green meetings destination, with four premier hotels—each a member of a green organization and practicing green—and with a plethora of nature-based attractions and surroundings, including the Morton Arboretum, parks and forest preserves.

Spirit to Preserve – The Rainforest Group Initiative
- Meetings must be booked between July 1, 2008 and December 31, 2009 and occur between July 1, 2008 and December 31, 2011.
- Marriott Hickory Ridge Conference Hotel will contribute funds on behalf of its customers to protect the critically endangered Brazilian Amazons rainforest for meetings booked between July 1, 2008 and December 31, 2009.
- For qualified green meetings/stays booked during select dates, Marriott Hickory Ridge Conference Hotel will make a cash contribution equal to five percent of the total cost of the group’s guest rooms. Donations will be made in the name of the group as part of Marriott International’s ongoing rainforest protection plan. All meetings must take place between July 1, 2008 and December 31, 2011. Our Green Initiatives are:
- Note/writing paper is composed of 100% Post Consumer Waste (PCW).
- Note/writing pads may be placed in the back of the meeting room instead at each place setting (based on our guests’ preference).
- Basic pen is made of recycled materials.
- Basic water service for a basic meeting room set will consist of one of the water served in pitchers.
- Our Banquet Menus are eMenus.

- Hickory Ridge Marriott Conference Hotel utilizes eFolio with our event planners.
- Hickory Ridge Marriott Conference Hotel sends the fact sheet via email to planners.
- Paperless Billing whenever possible, we email bills unless otherwise requested by the customer.
- Our hotel utilizes Recycle Bins in our meeting rooms, kitchen and housekeeping departments. We do utilize our Recycle Dumpster in our loading area.
- We use linen-less meeting tables.
- We consider using white boards in our meeting rooms instead of flipcharts.
